Components of 50KG Wheeled Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher
A large steel pressure vessel that stores 50 kg of dry powder fire extinguishing agent.
Built-in Type: Most cart-mounted fire extinguishers use a built-in gas cylinder (storage cylinder type). This is a separate high-pressure gas cylinder (usually filled with nitrogen or carbon dioxide) mounted inside or on the neck of the fire extinguisher. To use, the valve on the cylinder must be opened to charge the main tank.
Storage Type: A few use the storage type, where the fire extinguishing agent and propellant gas are permanently contained in the same tank.
The bottom is equipped with two large wheels and two supporting casters, making it easy for one person to tow it. The stand provides stability when parked.
Spray Gun: Similar to a fire hose, it can be controlled to switch on and off and spray in different directions.
Powder Hose: A long, pressure-resistant rubber hose (usually up to 5-8 meters) connects the tank and the spray gun, providing a sufficient operating radius.

Working Principle
•Movement: After discovering a fire, one person can quickly drag the fire extinguisher to the vicinity of the fire.
•Positioning: Lower the stand to stabilize the fire extinguisher.
•Preparation: Unfold the powder hose and point the spray gun toward the fire source.
•Activation:
For the internal cylinder type (the most common): First, turn the opening handle (or handwheel) counterclockwise to the bottom, puncturing the sealing diaphragm of the internal cylinder. High-pressure gas instantly rushes into the main tank, causing the internal pressure to rise sharply.
For the stored-pressure type: Simply open the pressure handle or valve.
•Dispensing: Firmly hold the spray gun and squeeze the on/off handle on the gun. High-pressure gas will eject the dry powder from the tank, through the hose, and out of the gun at high speed, covering the fire source.
•Extinguishing: Depending on the type of fire, extinguish the fire using a sweeping motion (for extinguishing liquid fires) or from above (for extinguishing solid fires).
•Before attempting to fight a fire with a fire extinguisher it is important to check that it is fully charged and that the safety pin is not bent.
•Ensure you remain a safe distance from the fire and remove the safety pin this will break the tamper seal.
•Aiming the extinguisher:
Solid Materials: Aim the hose at the base of the flames, moving across the area of the fire
Spilled liquids: Aim the hose at the near edge of the fire and with a rapid sweeping motion, drive the fire towards the far edge until all the flames have been extinguished
Flowing liquid: Direct the hose at the base of the flames and sweep upwards until all the flames have been extinguished
Electrical equipment: Switch off the power (if safe to do so) and then direct the hose straight at the fire.
•Squeeze the lever slowly to begin discharging the extinguisher, as the fire starts to diminish carefully move closer to it.
•Ensure all the fire has been extinguished, re-ignition can be possible when a powder fire extinguisher has been used
•Operation Training Required: Although the principle is simple, due to its high power and strong recoil, operators should receive preliminary training to learn how to properly activate and spray.
•Regular Inspections:
Pressure Gauge: Check that the needle is in the green zone (for stored pressure models).
Inspect Internal Gas Cylinder: Check for propellant gas leaks by weighing (for stored pressure models).
Appearance Inspection: Check the hose and gun for signs of aging and cracking, the wheels for flexibility, and the safety pin for integrity.
•Annual Maintenance: Annual inspections must be conducted by a professional firefighting agency. A hydrostatic test and refilling are required every five years or after activation.
•Placement: The device should be placed near accessible passageways, not blocking fire lanes, and clearly marked.
