With the improvement of fire safety awareness, stainless steel fire extinguishers are increasingly used in industrial, commercial and household scenarios due to their corrosion resistance and durability. However, the correct use and maintenance of stainless steel fire extinguishers are crucial to ensure their effectiveness. The following is a summary of key precautions from purchase, use to daily management.

1. Purchase and adaptability inspection

Although stainless steel fire extinguishers have material advantages, the corresponding model needs to be selected according to the type of fire. For example, dry powder fire extinguishers are suitable for solid, liquid and electrical fires; carbon dioxide fire extinguishers are more suitable for precision instruments or live equipment environments. When purchasing, it is necessary to confirm that the pressure pointer of the fire extinguisher is in the green area, and check whether the bottle has a factory inspection pass mark.

2. Safety regulations in use
Confirm the environment before operation: Before use, it is necessary to observe whether the fire is controllable and ensure that the evacuation channel is unobstructed.
Keep a safe distance: Keep a distance of 2-3 meters from the fire source when spraying to avoid high-temperature splashback or airflow recoil.
No inversion or excessive tilting: Dry powder fire extinguishers need to be held vertically to ensure uniform spraying of the agent, and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers need to avoid the risk of frostbite.
3. Daily maintenance points

Regularly check the pressure value: Observe the pressure gauge every month. If the pointer enters the red area, it needs to be repaired or replaced immediately.
Bottle and accessories maintenance: Clean the stainless steel surface with a soft cloth to avoid scratches from hard objects that may damage the coating; check whether the nozzle and safety pin are aging or rusted.
Storage environment requirements: It needs to be placed in a dry and ventilated place, away from corrosive substances and high-temperature heat sources. It is recommended that fire extinguishers that have not been used for a long time be functionally tested by professional institutions every year.
4. Scrapping and replacement standards

Although stainless steel fire extinguishers are corrosion-resistant, the service life still needs to be strictly observed. Generally speaking, the scrapping period for dry powder fire extinguishers is 10 years, and that for carbon dioxide fire extinguishers is 12 years. If the bottle is obviously deformed, rusted, or still fails to meet the standards after repair, it should be immediately deactivated and replaced.

Proper use and maintenance of stainless steel fire extinguishers can greatly improve their emergency efficiency and reduce fire risks. Whether it is a business or a home user, it is necessary to establish a systematic fire equipment management mechanism and regularly train relevant personnel to ensure that they can be used and used well at critical moments.
